Every thread carries a story, every weave holds a legacy

My love for handlooms began early, thanks to my parents, who always chose handwoven textiles, from Cooptex, APCO, and other cooperatives. From bedsheets to sarees, I grew up surrounded by the beauty of India’s weaving traditions. My appa’s work also gave me the opportunity to visit weaving clusters across the country, and I feel fortunate to have inherited many handloom treasures.

A handloom is never just fabric, it is time, skill, heritage, and the soul of the artisan woven into every thread. Every handloom we choose helps preserve a tradition, sustain livelihoods, and celebrate the artistry woven into our everyday lives.  Happy National Handloom Day. 

In a Thirubuvanam pattu @thicosilks . Commonly mistaken for Kanjivaram, these sarees are woven in Thirubuvanam in Thanjavur District, Tamilnadu. Traditionally, these sarees have single borders and are folded in a visiri madippu (accordian like fold) which makes it easier to drape. Paired with a Pen Kalamkari blouse
