Each snowfall is a quiet lesson in kindness

Ten years ago, I was supposed to go out on a routine business trip. Instead, I found myself stranded at an airport. My connecting flight was canceled when a heavy snowstorm shut down my destination. Going home wasn’t an option either, sleet and ice had grounded every flight. I had arrived at the airport at 7 a.m., and by 8 p.m. it was clear, no one was going anywhere. That’s when a fellow passenger suggested hiring an Uber to drive us home.We weren’t even sure a driver would accept the ride, but, one did.

Three complete strangers, a man, another lady and me climbed into that car, trusting a situation that felt equal parts desperate and surreal. We passed vehicle after vehicle spun out along the road. Every mile felt uncertain. Yet our driver kept going, navigating the storm with steady focus. The guy who had suggested the ride insisted on dropping us women off first. And when we offered to split the cost, he refused outright.

I’m still in touch with him today. If not for his quick thinking, calm presence and the skills of the amazing driver, I don’t know how long we would have been stranded. A simple act of kindness, in the middle of a snowstorm, made all the difference.

The winter landscape provides a perfect backdrop for some saree pics. It gives bollywood vibes. I have been obssesed with snow ever since I was a kid. Little did I know back then that I would live in a place where my backyard would turn into winter wonderland. In my 18 year old printed tussar with embroidery and , appliqué work, a gift from my parents. Love the koniya motifs and the unique palla.
